The Bonaldo Padiglioni dining table by Alain Gilles is a clear reference to the world of architecture as it appears to be a miniature version of the iconic Barcelona pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe. This simply stunning table is the ultimate expression of Alain Gilles' creative ability and Bonaldos incredibly skilful production capabilities.
The focal point of this table is the base, which is made up of three asymmetrical elements, each with a particular shape and placed in an apparently random position in order to make the composition visually dynamic. It is precisely because of the asymmetrical character of the base that anyone who looks at it closely will notice, as they move around the table, that it changes its appearance depending on the angle from which it is observed. The base is thus a significant part of the table, and accentuated by the top whose linear form with its tapered edge contrasts with the legs and completes the overall image.
Another feature of this beautiful table is the gently curved edge of the rounded rectangular table top which adds an extra touch of graceful elegance.
Available in three sizes, the table top and base can be selected in a "mono" finish in either brushed coal oak or canaletto walnut, or hand spatulated Clay in a range of colours. The Clay used is extremely practical, it is composed of recycled aggregates and is waterproof and resistant to dirt and stains. It is also possible to choose a "double finish" with a table top in either brushed coal oak or canaletto walnut and the metal base in several different finishes, including pearl gold.
