Part of Italian luxury brand Molteni &C's Heritage Collection, one of Gio Ponti's most iconic and representative pieces, the D.154.2 armchair is now available in an outdoor version.
Designed in 1954 for the villa of the Planchart collectors in Caracas (1953–57), the D.154.2 outdoor armchair is a careful study of materials and technical performance, guaranteeing not only respect for the fine original design, but also the durability that characterises all Molteni &C products. The timeless D.154.2 is a wrap-around armchair with a sinuous profile, characterised by a rigid yet cosy shell, with a soft upholstered counter frame. The exterior of the armchair is made of high-density polyurethane resin, which can be finished in anthracite or ivory. The internal padding and removeable seat cushion are made of moulded polyurethane foam, cover in waterproof polyester fibre. The steel feet are painted in a smocked metal finish.
The upholstery and removable seat cushion covers are in draining and weather-resistant fabrics which can be selected in several categories including the Musco collection which was developed in collaboration with Limonta Spa and selected by Marta Ferri. Musco offers seven different monochrome or striped jacquard and bouclé yarns inspired by shades of nature. You can also provide your own fabric subject to approval by Molteni.
