The Molteni &C Phoenix chair by Vincent Van Duysen has a minimal and contemporary style and is the result of a careful study of ergonomics to create a supremely comfortable garden chair.
The seat, back and sled base are made from a burnished aluminium band which is in one continuous stroke so that when seen from the side it appears slender and light, giving a sense of dynamism. For added elegance the seat back is beautifully woven in a style reminiscent of the Mediterranean tradition of baskets and panniers with polypropylene rope made entirely by hand in either anthracite, olive green or desert yellow.
Comfortable cushions can be covered in several categories of fabric including the Musco collection developed in collaboration with Limonta Spa and selected by Marta Ferri. Musco offers seven different monochrome or striped jacquard and bouclé yarns inspired by shades of nature which can be combined to match or contrast each other. You can also provide your own fabric subject to approval by Molteni.
Each chair comes with a seat cushion as standard, however for correct ergonomics Molteni also suggest that you add one back cushion to this armchair - see drop down menu.
The Phoenix range which also includes an armchair as well as sofas and coffee tables is part of the wider Molteni & C Timeout collection in which metal is the predominant material used but softened by the use of intertwined ropes for the backrests weaving a story where "timeout" becomes a well-deserved reconciliation break with outdoor spaces.
