The Molteni &C Sway modular garden sofa by Yabu Pushelberg is a groundbreaking outdoor seating system which merges a love for nature with mastery in design and is capable of redefining outdoor spaces with its unparalleled versatility, and fluid forms.
Part of the Molteni Landmark garden collection, Sway comprises of two standard sized sofas and a wide range of modular seating elements, including chaise longues, central and end elements, a pouf and coffee tables all of which can be combined together to create any number of informal sofa compositions.
Each seating element has a teak base, providing a sturdy foundation for the ergonomically designed seats that ensure optimal comfort. The aluminium backrest, softened by polypropylene rope weaving in refined ecru, adds a touch of elegance and has a soft, pleasant texture, akin to that of cotton. The golden-hour painted C-shaped aluminium side and back elements act as an anchor, delicately embracing the base and padded seat while serving as a pivot for the backrest. The same aluminium, which is resistant and corrosion-free, is used for the sofa feet.
Generously sized cushions create a rich and soft feel. Moulded from polyurethane with variable densities, the seat cushions ensure maximum support that will not wane with time. Designed for outdoor environments, the upholstery is both weather-resistant and breathable with removable cushion covers in several fabric categories, or you can supply your own material subject to approval.
We have priced two modular sofas; Composition 1 (see main image) is 262cm wide and consists of an end element & a 90x90 coffee table, whilst the larger corner sofa Composition 2 (see detailed images) is 489cm wide and comprises of a chaise longue, a 60x90 coffee table, a central element, and an end element. Coffee tables are in teak with either a teak, ceramic, or tatami table top. For correct ergonomics Molteni suggest that you add back, armrest and lumbar cushions to each composition.
