The Nani Marquina Silhouette rug is the result of a collaboration with the legendary Spanish designer Jaime Hayon to create a rug which highlights his acclaimed casual style.
Delicate strokes detail the "silhouettes" of several imaginary characters that intertwine and coexist in a beautiful composition. Hayon has subtly introduced colour through small elements. There are nine faces, distributed at different angles so that the rug can be viewed from any perspective, fitting perfectly into any space.
The intricate process used to create this rug introduces embroidery into the kilim technique for the first time, a laborious handmade process. Despite its delicate appearance, Silhouette is hard-wearing and suitable for both residential and commercial use. There is also an outdoor version - see related products.
Available in five standard sizes, three of which are currently in stock for delivery within 2-4 weeks. The smallest size 120cm x 150cm is a tapestry piece that can be hung vertically. We can also arrange for custom sizes to be made to your exact specification.
Hand loomed and made from 90% Afghan hand spun wool with 10% New Zealand embroidery wool this kilim rug has a density of 48,000 yarns per square metre and a pile height of 4mm. A hand tufted version made from 100% New Zealand wool is also available with a density of 56,000 tufts per square metre and a height of 14mm
