The large three-seater Saba Gala sofa is part of the Gala modular seating system designed by Cristina Celestino for Italian brand Saba. This exciting collaboration combines modular elements of different depths to create single or double facing sofas
Responding to the desire of investigating the sofa as a place and not only as a mere functional product, Gala is a sofa with a strong iconographic design component.
With a subtle reference to the retro-future atmosphere of sofas that inhabited the ‘70s, Gala is associated with elegance and sophistication as well as the traditional rippled gala decoration used for special occasions. In the case of the Gala sofa, this rippled effect becomes the structure itself. Interestingly, Gala is also one of the planets in Star Wars and this sofa is an indirect tribute to the world of stars.
The central backbone is a vertical element that draws pleated curves ready to accommodate, both on the front as well as on the back, an extremely comfortable seat-pouf element of different depths. Suitable for home or contract use the many possible configurations give life to a “hybrid” and flexible sofa.
Shown here is a three-seater single facing sofa in two depths and styles. The long element can be in the middle or at one end. For the covers you can choose from a huge range of fabrics in a variety of colours, or you can supply your own material. Seat back cushions are included but the small scatter cushions are not but can be purchased separately. A smaller Gala sofa, as well as several other configurations can be seen in the related products below.
