We’re thrilled to announce that the stunning Saba Italia Shades of Venice screens, by designer Marco Zito, have been chosen for this year’s Venice Design Biennial.
The Biennial is THE festival that attracts the eyes of the art world. It combines glamour, art and history in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Shades of Venice are on display in the Archaeological Museum, Piazza San Marco. They’re part of a collection called ‘Past Forward. Designers for the Land of Venice’, featuring work by 16 designers who live and work in the city.
Part of Italian brand Saba's extensive range of contemporary furniture, the Shades of Venice Screens can be positioned anywhere to create a colourful division between usable spaces. There are four dividers in two different heights, each woven in nautical cords inspired by the Venetian islands and their local colours: Murano, Burano, Giudecca and Sant'Erasmo.
Murano is inspired by the blue and green of Murano glass, whilst the bright tonalities and contrasts of the Burano design reflect the colourful houses of the island in orange and blue. From the white stone of Giudecca to the colours of the vegetables, like the artichokes that grow in the gardens of Venice's Sant'Erasmo.
Suitable for use inside or out, Shades of Venice is pictured here with the New York Soleil collection which includes a sofa, armchair and dining chairs - see related products below.
Since 1988, Saba have been creating stunning furniture that is not only technically excellent and beautifully crafted, but also, at the cutting edge of design.
